Blues ConFusion was formed in 2013. The band consists of Phil Bourgault - Guitars, Bella Jean (Bourgault) - Vocals, Simon Sharp - Keyboards, Tom Pestrucci - Drums and Andy Robinson - Bass. Phil formed Blues ConFusion to primarily play his original music.

Phil is a self-taught lefty guitarist who has been writing and playing his own songs since 1980. He formed Blues ConFusion to play his original blues rock jazz fusion music. Phil is also President of the Swan Hills Blues Club that operate out of the Stirling Arms Hotel between 5 and 8:30pm on the third Sunday of the month.

Bella Jean has been singing since she was born and trained at the Perth Academy of Dance and Musical Theatre and then WAAPA. Since then, she has graduated as a primary school music specialist.

​

Simon is a multi-instrumentalist focusing mainly on piano, Hammond style organ. He has previously played on stage in bands with distinguished musicians including Dave Hole and Kerry B Ryan. Simon has been a band member with Blues Confusion since 2019.

​Tom is the youngest member of Blues ConFusion, Tom is also a multi-instrumentalist and a very keen and accurate drummer.  

​

A multi-instrumentalist, Andy has been active in various roles in both the amateur and pro music scene for over 40 years, covering many different genres.

​

Blues ConFusion plays a mix of Phil's original music and interpretations of blues and jazz blues and rock artists. They have recorded and released two albums, an EP and a single of original music that are all available on Spotify and other streaming services.

• The Let's Celebrate Belmont festival (where they supported Dave Faulkner from the Hoodoo Gurus who came to Phil's house to jam some songs with the band before the gig)

• The Darlington Pavilion Fund raiser festival (where they supported Blue Manna with the legendary Dave Hole on Guitar)

• The Mt Helena Whim Festival

• The Toodyay Music Festival.
